Role: Senior Civil Engineer
Location: Eastern or Northwest & Central Regions
We are recruiting a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Central Rail Systems Alliance team, specialising in delivering multi-million-pound Rail Core and Enhancement projects and programmes.
Your Role
As a Senior Civil Engineer, your key responsibilities include:
- Using your expertise in railway civil design engineering to support and lead designs in roles such as Checker or Civil & Rail Engineer (CRE).
- Managing price and programme for your design scope.
- Collaborating closely with Construction and Assurance teams to form strong relationships, ensuring smooth project delivery.
- Mentoring and supporting the development of junior team members.
- Producing high-quality deliverables, including:
- Calculations
- Reports
- Drawings
- Ensuring coordinated and constructable multi-disciplinary designs.
- Assisting with the tendering process for new projects.

About You
We are looking for candidates with:
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary design and construction projects.
- Knowledge of ancillary civil engineering, particularly in track renewals.
- Proven expertise in multi-disciplinary civil design.
- Commitment to mentoring junior team members.
- Registration or eligibility for:
- IEng (Incorporated Engineer)
- CEng (Charted Engineer)
- A relevant professional body.
- Working towards the CRE (Civil & Rail Engineer) designation (desirable).
- Experience as a Project Engineer (desirable).

This role may require a security clearance, and employment is contingent on achieving the required level. During interviews, security expectations will be discussed. The vetting process is handled by UK SwipeClear (formerly UK Security Vetting) and may require proof of UK residency of 5+ years.
