Role: Senior / Principal Civil Engineer (Highway & Drainage)

Location: Midlands
Type: Full-Time / Hybrid
Salary expectation: £45,000 - £60,000 (Depending on level of seniority)


Role:

Our client is an established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Civil Engineer to join a growing regional team.

This is a key technical leadership role, supporting the delivery of a diverse portfolio of civil infrastructure projects across multiple sectors. The successful candidate will take ownership of projects from concept through to completion, provide technical guidance to junior engineers, and build strong relationships with clients.

The team is looking for a well-rounded civil engineer with broad infrastructure experience, particularly across highways and drainage, who enjoys working collaboratively and taking responsibility for project delivery. This position offers the opportunity to play an important role in the continued growth of the team while working within a supportive, flexible consultancy environment.

Key Requirements:

The ideal candidate should have broad civil infrastructure experience and be comfortable working across multiple disciplines.

Essential requirements include:

  • Strong experience in both highways and drainage (this is the biggest screening requirement).
  • Broad civil infrastructure knowledge, including:
    • Highways
    • Drainage
    • Earthworks
    • General infrastructure design
  • Ability to take projects from concept through to completion.
  • Experience setting design principles and overseeing delivery.
  • Strong technical review and checking capability.
  • Able to lead work completed by engineers and graduate engineers.
