Principal Civil Engineer
Tamworth
Hybrid: Flexible working available

As a Principal Civil Engineer, you'll take a leading role in the technical delivery of civil design projects, guiding a talented engineering team and ensuring excellence across every stage of design and construction. This role offers the chance to shape high-profile projects, influence strategy, and contribute to the sustainable development of essential water infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee the civil design and delivery of water and wastewater treatment projects.
- Produce and review technical reports, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Undertake design calculations and analysis using appropriate industry software.
- Coordinate civil design with mechanical, electrical, and process engineering disciplines.
- Conduct site visits, inspections, and provide technical support during construction.
- Mentor junior engineers, review deliverables, and maintain technical quality.
- Support business development through input into bids, proposals, and client engagement.
- Ensure compliance with UK standards, health and safety legislation, and quality procedures.

Requirements
8 Years Experience
- BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards professional status (ICE/IStructE/CIWEM).
- Minimum 8 years experience delivering civil engineering designs in the UK water sector.
- Excellent leadership, mentoring, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in design tools such as Tekla, TEDDS, STAAD, or AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of UK design codes, Eurocodes, and water industry standards.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
