The Senior Civil Engineer Position
Focus: Technical Authority for L3 Detailing Contract Package (SZ1226, SZ1221, SZ1222) within the Sizewell C (SZC) project lifecycle.
You will oversee the full technical lifecycle of deliverables, pre- and post-contract signature, ensuring rigorous alignment with SZC replication principles.
Primary Responsibilities

Lead Mastery Role
- Serve as Lead Technical Authority for all details produced under the L3 detailing contract.

Oversight & Compliance
- Supervise technical surveillance of submissions by L3 detailing Leads.
- Check regulatory and quality adherence to SZC standards and replication principles.

Cross-disciplinary Project Support
- Act as primary technical point of contact between:
- The L3 Detailer teams and teams
- SZC Project Manager (PM)
- Act as primary technical point of contact between:

Design Coordination
- Manage the L3 designing phase from GR0 (Infrastructure Project Gateway) through GRD (pre-commissioning stage), through:
- GR0 to GRB – HPC info transfer to conclude Gateway Review (GRB) foyer apartment information
- GRC – Collaboratively develop the detailed design approach in aligned design venue considering constructive details
- GRD – Provide strategic support on technical queries served by nominal models
- Manage the L3 designing phase from GR0 (Infrastructure Project Gateway) through GRD (pre-commissioning stage), through:

Review Process & Stakeholder Liaison
- Chair and lead CIHP, GRC, and GRD review meetings
- Coordinate internally with stakeholders to ensure technical consistency and compliance with standards
Key Qualifications
Experience & Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering; discipline preference: construction, structural or general civil
- Proven expertise in nuclear civil detailing design and project delivery
- Relevant nuclear industry experience helpful, particularly with:
- Compliance with nuclear codes, designs, and safety standards
- Understanding of nuclear replication principles
- Processes for configuration/change management

Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of:
- Current codes and standards, including those related to:
- CW (Nuclear Standards Code Venues)
- Engineering & Design processes
- Health and Safety regulations
- Current codes and standards, including those related to:
- Familiarity and understanding of nuclear methodology and quality assurance principles
Leadership & Collaboration
- Ability to lead and coordinate among multilevel engineering teams
- Complex interface management; ability for sustained resolution of technical conflicts
- Highly organised, with keen attention to both technical execution and business needs
