Senior Civil Engineer (Water)
Civil Engineer – Regulated Water Asset Design (AMP8 Water Programme)

About the Role
Our Regulated Water Asset Design team serves the municipal water sector both in the UK and internationally. We collaborate under long-term framework agreements with key water companies, including Severn Trent Water and Southwest Water, while also maintaining strong relationships with world-class contractors like Costain and Galliford Try.
We deliver a full spectrum of design services across:
- Wastewater treatment
- Water treatment
- Sewerage and water network schemes

With increased industry demand, we’re actively recruiting experienced Civil Engineers to support the UK’s AMP8 capital investment programme. Whether you bring direct water sector experience or transitioning from another engineering field, we offer:

Key Responsibilities
As a Civil Engineer, you’ll:
- Own all aspects of project delivery, including health & safety, technical quality, scheduling, budgeting, and stakeholder relationships.
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to ensure seamless project execution.
- Innovate and expand services by proactively introducing complementary offerings across the UK and internationally.
- Cultivate strategic client relationships to drive project success and customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to strategic initiatives, including digital transformation tools and net zero commitments.
- Act as a trusted advisor on new services and client-led projects within the Asset Design framework.
- Lead bid preparation, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Mentor junior engineers and degree apprentices, fostering their professional growth.
- Support team recruitment and expansion, including career progression opportunities.

Key Requirements & Conditions for Consideration
We seek candidates who can demonstrate:
- A degree in Civil Engineering.
- Chartered status (ICE/CIWEM), or clear progression towards it.
- Proven experience in:
- Leading engineering design teams (civil & cross-disciplinary).
- Delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Holding checker/approval roles in linear infrastructure or industrial/process design.
- Experience in mentoring junior staff and developing their technical and professional skills.
- Strong client-facing capability, including presentation, communication, and relationship management.
