Job Description
Senior Civil Technician – Civil 3D Specialist
Location: Manchester, Leeds or London
Work Type: Hybrid (3 days per week in office)

Are you a skilled Civil Technician with a passion for precision and innovation in infrastructure design? GHD is seeking a Senior Civil Technician with strong AutoCAD Civil 3D capabilities to join our growing UK team. This is a hybrid role offering flexibility and the opportunity to work on impactful projects across transport, water, and urban development.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Develop and produce detailed civil engineering designs using AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Create and manage digital terrain models, alignments, corridors, pipe networks, and grading designs.
- Prepare high-quality drawings and documentation that meet project and client requirements.
- Collaborate with engineers and designers to refine and improve design outputs.
- Conduct quality assurance checks and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Support data analysis and design conceptualisation for infrastructure projects.
- Operate and optimise design workflows using Civil 3D and related tools.

What You Bring
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D – including surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, and pipe networks.
- Strong understanding of UK design standards and BIM workflows.
- Ability to interpret engineering data and translate it into accurate technical drawings.
- Experience working on multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work independently and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications & Experience
Education: Relevant technical qualification in civil engineering or design.
Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience using Civil 3D in a consultancy or engineering environment.
