New Vacancy - Senior Claims Adjuster - Casualty

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

I am currently partnered with a leading Syndicate who are seeking a Senior Claims Adjuster to join their Casualty division.

This role will be handling complex Casualty (EL/PL/GL/Environmental) losses from the UK, US and other international jurisdictions on a lead and follow basis, from a primary and excess view (heavy excess on the US side - rail, etc).

My client is seeking a Claims professional with strong Casualty Claims experience from the UK&I & Internationally. US experience is preferred but not essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively manage a diverse portfolio of Casualty claims from first notification through to settlement and closure, investigating policy coverage, liability and quantum, while setting and reviewing reserves and claims strategy throughout the lifecycle of each claim.
  • Maintain compliance with delegated authority levels, claims reserving philosophies and claims handling standards, referring matters as appropriate.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders throughout the claims process, including policyholders, brokers, co-insurers, actuaries, underwriters and other relevant parties.
  • Instruct, manage and oversee external legal counsel, loss adjusters and third-party administrators (TPAs), providing technical guidance and exercising financial authority where required.
  • Maintain accurate, comprehensive claim files and ensure high standards of record keeping and documentation.
  • Deliver a professional, customer-focused claims service while adhering to organisational values, codes of conduct and regulatory requirements.
  • Support Claims Managers and senior leadership with internal audit activities, management information and reporting requirements.
  • Contribute to the development of claims strategy and business initiatives by identifying opportunities for continuous improvement, sharing technical expertise and supporting underwriting objectives.
  • Promote the profile of the Claims function through engagement with clients, brokers and the wider insurance market, including participation in industry meetings and supporting business development initiatives where appropriate.
