How You'll Make An Impact
We are seeking a Complex Disease Claims Adjuster for Casualty Claims. The candidate will actively support the department in providing a customer focused, cost efficient claims handling service by a pro-active approach to claims handling that puts customer service as the core value whilst operating within a regulatory framework.
The role will be client facing and in addition to coverage, legal liability and quantum analysis, will required interaction with brokers, insureds, external providers and internal stakeholders.
- Handle and investigate all claims within limit of authority in accordance with company standards and procedures and demonstrate accurate and timely reserving.
- Take pro-active steps to effectively deal with claimants and their representatives ensuring the best outcome of claim.
- Contribute to ensuring the Department’s Key Performance Targets are met and that own objectives are achieved.
- Promote compliance with best practice for all aspects of claims assessment/handling and actively promote and demonstrate principles of Treating Customers Fairly (TCF).
- Support the Claims Manager and claims team on an ongoing basis and work closely with underwriters providing feedback on claims issues, wording and market trends.
- Proactively identify and review suspect/fraudulent claims on a consistent basis in line with company' internal requirements.
- Work as part of a team and support colleagues so that overall team effectiveness is advanced.
- Culture – Take personal responsibility for promoting a ‘can-do’ attitude and demonstrating a pro-active claims handling service.
- Foster good relationships with internal and external customers and drive excellent customer service.

What You'll Need To Succeed
Candidates will be able to demonstrate proven experience in an insurance or legal based environment handling some of the most complex disease claims including asbestos, respiratory diseases and occupational cancers but predominantly a caseload of noise induced hearing loss Claims. This includes a good understanding of the end to end claims procedures/processes along with knowledge using claims systems (including MOJ), excel and word.
- Detailed working knowledge of the legal and regulatory environment within which such claims are handled.
- Proven ability to make the right decisions on legal liability; damage assessment and assessing the need for investigation or rehabilitation.
- Self-motivated, proactive team member, while taking individual responsibility for an allocated case load.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Strong communication skills both written and oral.
