Senior Claims Specialist – Reinsurance Liability

About the Role
The Senior Claims Specialist will lead and deliver market-leading, proactive claims handling for the Reinsurance Liability lines of business (and broader classes where applicable), ensuring top-tier client outcomes, cost control, and regulatory compliance. This role demands a strong advocate for clients, brokers, and internal stakeholders, upholding M&G Amlin’s values of TRUST (Transparency, Responsiveness, Understanding, Solution-Driven, and Technical Expertise).
Key Responsibilities
Creative & Strategic Claims Leadership
- Handle all stages of the claims lifecycle (First Notice of Loss FNOL to settlement), including subrogation/contribution scrutiny, ensuring best estimates of reserve, and cost control throughout.
- Actively monitor claims trends, ensuring proactive resolution while aligning with MS Amlin Claims Philosophy and Lloyd’s/FCA regulatory requirements.
- Deliver consistent green KPIs on all accuracy, response, and cost metrics.
Knowledge & Thought Leadership
- Provide specialist input on claims data, reserving, and market insights to inform business decisions.
- Collaborate with underwriters to refine offering strategies for profitable growth.
- Strengthen broker/network relationships by anticipating needs, gathering feedback, and representing MS Amlin’s claims excellence.

Deputation & Team Support
- Deputise for Claims Manager, Technical Claims Lead, or other senior members as required.
- Champion agile problem-solving and cross-functional collaboration to deliver claims transformation goals.
- Act as a market ambassador, elevating MS Amlin’s reputation for claims credibility.
Key Requirements
Experience & Expertise
- Proven record of leading complex global claims teams in reinsurance/liability.
- Strong relationships with brokers, insurers, and claims experts.
- Deep knowledge of London Market claims systems, regulatory frameworks (FCA/PRA/J-SOX), and account/portfolio management.
Qualifications
- Prefers those with degree-level education or CII qualifications (or equivalent).
- Polished command of Microsoft tools (Excel, especially), ECF (Electronic Claims Form).
