Senior Cleaner
Senior Cleaner – Keynsham Recycling Hub
Location: Keynsham Recycling Hub, Pixash Lane, Bath & North East Somerset Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 16:00 – 18:00 Additional: Opportunities for overtime available
At Bath & North East Somerset Council, we are driven to improve people’s lives. We are seeking a reliable and motivated Senior Cleaner to join our team at the modern Keynsham Recycling Hub. This hands-on role requires ~80% active cleaning, supporting daily operations, and working collaboratively with the wider cleaning team to maintain high standards across offices, public areas, stairwells, kitchens, and multiple toilet facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a cleaning team in maintaining excellent standards
- Perform daily cleaning tasks, including:
- Vacuuming, mopping, and dusting
- High hygiene standards across offices, toilets, kitchens, and stairwells
- Emptying and sanitising bins
- Order and manage cleaning materials and equipment
- Complete routine cleanliness and safety checks
- Provide polite and professional customer service to residents and staff
- Undertake light administrative tasks as required

About You
Essential Criteria
- Passionate about upholding high cleaning standards
- Reliable, organised, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Strong communication skills and confidence in supporting colleagues
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual tasks
- Friendly, approachable, and professional in all interactions
Desirable Qualities & Experience
- Understanding of Health & Safety procedures
- Knowledge of COSHH regulations
- Previous experience in cleaning or facilities management
Transferable Skills Valued
- Team leadership or mentoring
- Customer service
- Stock control and supply organisation
- Time management and prioritisation
- Basic administrative skills
- Problem-solving and initiative
