I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

The clinical activities of each of the three existing Gynae Oncology Consultants include weekly One Stop clinics, gynaecological clinics, theatres and both local MDT and regional MDT at the Royal London Hospital.

Responsibility for inpatients at Queens Hospital and reviewing referrals is included in this post along with regular reviewing of patients on the PTL.

The post will provide excellent opportunities to learn minimal access techniques in gynaecological oncology, to run independent and consultant led outpatient gynaecological oncology clinics, take part in MDT, and assist in surgery.

The service is extremely busy running a weekly local MDT, taking part in a tertiary centre MDT at Barts NHS Trust, running one-stop clinics and providing elective care treatment to patients with gynaecology oncology presentations.

The day-to-day duties of the gynaecology oncology fellow are subject to changes in line with service need and being flexible is essential for this role.

The post holder will be expected to work closely with the multidisciplinary and management teams to ensure effective management of clinical pathways.
