Requirements & Experience • Mandatory: Must have 2 years of UK experience in Maternity • Minimum training level: Evidence of completion of a structured period of training in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, progressing to the equivalent of ST3 or above, with documented employment records
About the Role This position ensures our Obstetrics & Gynaecology department maintains a fully operational service range. Clinical Fellows will explore and develop their special interests within the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Share in the on-call rota (1-in-9 coverage including weekends):
- Day shifts: Saturday & Sunday (0800–2030) or night shifts (2000–0800) per year
- Act as a Registrar Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, upholding to expected duties including:
- Teaching and supervising juniors and students
- Engaging in clinical governance activities, such as audit, and contributing to management
- Ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to stay current on medical advancements
- Annual Trust appraisal scheme participation
- Develop and implement clinical protocols in identified areas of interest
- Collaborate across administrative and managerial staff duty rotations
- Supervise juniors’ & students’ training within speciality networks
