About the Role
This role will enable a ST3 to ST8 level doctor to gain experience as part of our Obstetrics and Gynaecology team at Chesterfield Royal Hospital.
The post has been specifically designed for training level medics who would like to gain more specialty experience and consolidate their knowledge, skills and confidence prior to moving on to the next stage of their career.
- Work and Training: You will work and train in a number of areas across Obstetrics and Gynaecology, including wards, outpatients and theatres.
- Role Duration: This is a fixed term post to provide rota cover for Trainee vacancies within the department. Some aspects of the role can be bespoke to the individual needs of the post-holder and tailored to take into account previous relevant experience, or achievement of requirements for application to specialty training.
- Opportunities: There will be the opportunity to participate in teaching, audit, guideline development and service improvement projects.
We will also provide support to help you develop a portfolio in line with Royal College recommendations for those who want to evidence their role and training in this way.

- Support: A clinical supervisor will be allocated and will provide support for the duration of the placement.
Minimum Skill Requirements:
- 4 years of Post Graduate experience
- 2 years of Obstetrics and Gynaecology training and NHS working
