2x Permanent post & 2 x fixed term (6 month initially and extend to 12 months max)

Applications are invited from enthusiastic and motivated doctors for the post of Senior Clinical Fellow (ST3+ Equivalent) in Neurosurgery within our dynamic regional Neurosurgical Department. This post offers an excellent opportunity for a registrar-level doctor to develop advanced clinical and operative experience within a high-volume tertiary neurosurgical service.

The successful candidate will work alongside experienced consultant neurosurgeons and multidisciplinary teams, contributing to the delivery of comprehensive emergency and elective neurosurgical care. The post is designed to support the development of operative skills, clinical decision-making, leadership, education, and research, making it an ideal opportunity for doctors preparing for national training, fellowship, CESR, or consultant practice.

Although this is a non-training post, the department has a strong commitment to education and professional development, with opportunities to participate in teaching, audit, quality improvement, and clinical research.

Note: For the 6 months fixed-term contracts, the actual contract duration will be adjusted to account for the time taken to advertise the post, complete the hiring process, and finalise pre-employment checks. This means the contract will begin when the candidate starts the role and may be slightly shorter.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We run a Women’s Health Hub in Ilford; an Ageing Well Centre in Hornchurch; and Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC) at Barking Community Hospital and at St George’s Health and Wellbeing Hub. These CDCs are open 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.

The majority of our 8,400 staff – who come from 146 different countries - live in the three diverse London boroughs we serve and are from black, Asian, and minority ethnic groups. Many can work flexibly and more than 400 of them are on our Ofsted accredited apprenticeship programmes. We’re proud to be a London Living Wage employer.
