Applications for Senior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
Applications are invited for the role of Senior Clinical Fellow in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to commence as soon as possible for a fixed term period of 12 months. The post is primarily based at Burnley General Hospital.
About the Role
The Lancashire Womens & Newborn Centre is located on the Burnley General site and we provide satellite clinics across East Lancashire to ensure ease of access for the local population. We provide a full range of clinics in both obstetrics and gynaecology and all members of the team have a sub speciality interest. We have an outstanding reputation as a training unit.
Requirements
Candidates must have full registration with the GMC and meet all the necessary requirements of the person specification.
Responsibilities
The role is intended to assist with general service provision and has no on call commitment attached to it.
The post will be based at Burnley General Hospital with the post holder being required to take part in Obstetrics and/or Gynaecology general duties which will include:

- Labour ward/Maternal assessment unit duties
You will also have opportunity to attend special interest clinics and enhance your knowledge and skills.

The Lancashire Womens & Newborn Centre is a modern purpose built building housing the wards and outpatient areas for Obstetrics, Neonatology and Gynaecology.

Training and Development
The post is classed as non training grade but the department is fully committed to provide equivalent level of training to the post holder with a named clinical supervisor and regular appraisals. There is great opportunity to be involved with departmental audit and research projects. You will gain excellent clinical experience and have opportunity to further your skills and attend theatres.
