Job Description
Interviews are scheduled to take place on 14th September 2026.
We are looking to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellow to our innovative and ambitious Plastic surgery department which is expanding both clinically and academically in terms of number of consultants, workload and increasing sub-specialisation for a period of 6 Months from March 2027. This fellowship is approved by the Royal College of Surgeons of England.

Clinical Workload
The Oncoplastic Breast Fellow post has been developed for the University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire and referring breast units. This exciting and essential role affords opportunities for trainees interested in working with patients with acquired and congenital breast disease.
The post holder will be responsible to the Plastic Surgery Consultant and will be involved in providing skills and expertise to breast and plastic surgeons. The post holder will attend the Breast oncology MDT, Oncoplastic MDT, Breast one stop clinics, breast surgery lists, plastic surgery operating lists and also gain experience in oncology and radiology. The post holder will work closely with the multi professional team to coordinate the pathway for reconstruction patients and be actively involved in the planning, execution and follow-up of microsurgical free tissue transfer. There will also be opportunities to participate and lead supervised and accredited research and audit programmes for this service.

Expected Caseload
It is anticipated that between 50-100 breast reconstruction patients will require input from the Plastic Surgery team per year, and approximately 100 microsurgical procedures will be performed electively per year within the department at UHCW.
