About the Role
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic clinical pharmacist with excellent clinical and interpersonal skills to support a high-quality service to the Surgical Specialist Division based at Westmoreland Street. The post is part-time, and offers scope for flexible working, as part of the wider UCLH Pharmacy team.
Role Responsibilities
You will work as part of the Surgical Specialties multidisciplinary team (MDT), delivering the highest quality service for both inpatients and outpatients, alongside the Thoracic and Urology consultants, clinical fellows, clinical nurse specialists, dietitians and other healthcare professionals.
- Work within a Multidisciplinary Team: Collaborate with various healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
- Service Development: Work to develop and enhance existing systems, particularly where efficiency and productivity can be improved through our Electronic Health Records System, Epic, and the development of GP Connect.
- Clinical Pharmacy Contribution: Contribute to local and national initiatives to develop and enhance the pharmacy service.
- Education and Development: Contribute to the delivery of educational and developmental programmes, including the Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice, and our rotational programme for band 7 clinical pharmacists.
- Specialist Advice: Collaborate closely with the theatres, anaesthetics and pre-assessment teams, providing specialist advice to optimise patient care.
- Prescribing Skills: Use your non-medical prescribing skills in both the inpatient and outpatient setting to optimise the prescribing of specialist and supportive care medications.

About the Department
UCH at Westmoreland Street offers comprehensive care for a spectrum of Urology and Thoracic services and is split into six sub-groups. The teams work closely together, along with other services such as the Assisted Conception Unit and Uro-radiology.
Additional Responsibilities
- Management and Leadership: Include governance, medicines expenditure analysis and reporting, audit and service evaluation, multi-professional education and training, and other strategic projects as required.
- Representation: Represent the UCLH Pharmacy Department at directorate and divisional clinical governance meetings.
