Job Type: Full-time Location: Remote – UK
About the Role
As a Senior Cloud Development Engineer, you will drive the creation of cloud-based applications on Microsoft Azure that support Malvern Panalytical’s digital transformation. This role spans the full software development lifecycle, with a focus on scalable, secure, and high-performance solutions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing cloud-native applications aligned with enterprise architecture principles
- Collaborating with Product Owners, UX/UI designers, and cross-functional teams to deliver technically robust, user-centred solutions
- Championing DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, automation, and engineering best practices to enhance quality and efficiency
- Troubleshooting complex cloud and full-stack challenges, optimising performance, and driving continuous improvement
- Mentoring junior engineers and fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence
This is an opportunity for a highly experienced cloud engineer who thrives in technical leadership, solution architecture, and scalable software development.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Design, develop, and optimise scalable, secure cloud-native applications on Microsoft Azure, supporting digital products and business operations
- Provide technical leadership—owning full-stack architecture, development, and deployment of high-quality solutions
- Collaborate with Product Owners, UX/UI designers, developers, and stakeholders to align technical implementation with business and customer needs
- Champion secure coding practices, automation, DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software engineering standards
- Lead Agile delivery teams, participating in sprint planning, retrospectives, and performance improvements
- Diagnose, resolve, and optimise performance using data-driven insights, logging, monitoring, and cloud analytics
- Mentor engineers, share expertise, and cultivate a culture of continuous learning

About You
Required qualifications and experience include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline or substantial commercial software development experience
- Significant experience designing and building full-stack cloud applications in enterprise environments
- Strong hands-on expertise in:
- C#, .NET
- Microsoft Azure services (e.g., Azure App Services, Kubernetes, Storage, Database)
- Secure coding standards
- Automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices
- Proven ability to:
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues using logging tools, monitoring platforms, and diagnostic frameworks
- Work within agile methodologies
- Deliver technical leadership and mentorship
- Experience with:
- SQL and NoSQL databases
- Cloud infrastructure and modern application integration patterns
Advantageous:
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar regulatory environments
- Hands-on experience with cloud security, compliance, or high-availability solutions
