Senior Cloud Engineer
With excellent communication skills and breadth and depth across Cloud (AWS, Azure), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible), and containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) sought by a fast-growing Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund.
Our client is a relatively recent Hedge Fund start-up, now managing $5BN+ and this role will join a local Cloud & SRE team as the third team member. They seek who can work well with both the business as well as with MSPs, operate with a high degree of accountability, able to manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently and flexibility, whilst also collaborating effectively with a global team across multiple time zones.
Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions on platforms such as Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement cloud-native architectures, microservices, and serverless applications, leveraging containerization and orchestration technologies.
- Implement and maintain automated deployment pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC), and configuration management tools to streamline provisioning and management of cloud resources.
- Evaluate new cloud technologies, services, and features, and make recommendations for adoption based on business requirements, cost-benefit analysis, and technical feasibility.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to document technical architectures, standards, and best practices for cloud computing, and ensure alignment with enterprise IT strategies and objectives.

Requirements
- 5-10 years of experience in Cloud Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or similar role, with hands-on experience designing, deploying, and managing cloud infrastructure in AWS and Azure.
- Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, architectures, and best practices, including IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS models.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation using languages such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash, and experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible.
- Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, and related tools.
- Strong understanding of networking concepts, including virtual private clouds (VPCs), subnets, routing, load balancing.
- Knowledge of cloud security best practices, identity and access management (IAM), encryption mechanisms, and regulatory compliance requirements in financial services.

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a major multi-strategy Hedge Fund in its early stages of operations and growth with a strong pipeline of greenfield projects and initiatives. Please note that this firm operates a full-time onsite, five-days per week policy.
