Senior Cloud Engineer – Product Metrics (Fully Remote, UK-Based)

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps.

About the Role

Our partner is seeking a Senior Cloud Engineer – Product Metrics based in the United Kingdom for a fully remote position. This forward-thinking role offers the opportunity to:

  • Design, build, and operate mission-critical cloud infrastructure for large-scale product metrics and real-time analytics.
  • Work on highly distributed systems processing trillions of events and managing petabytes of data with exceptional reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate with experienced engineers on platform strategy, scalable feature delivery, and cloud-native optimizations—supporting both internal operations and customer-facing insights.
  • Combine hands-on engineering, architectural decision-making, and operational ownership in a cutting-edge environment.

Accountabilities

  • Design, develop, and operate highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems for product metrics collection and analytics.
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap, proposing improvements, new capabilities, and driving engineering initiatives for platform performance and scalability.
  • Build and maintain cloud-native services for real-time data processing, storage, and serving, ensuring high accuracy, availability, and efficiency.
  • Monitor, optimize, and ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency of production systems.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver features, improve services, and support business objectives.
  • Participate in architectural discussions, perform code reviews, and mentor teammates with technical best practices.
  • Take production service ownership including operational support, incident response, troubleshooting, and on-call rotations.

Requirements

Technical Skills

  • Minimum 5 years professional experience in scalable, distributed, fault-tolerant software systems.
  • At least 2 years developing applications in Go (Golang).
  • Strong expertise with Southern European languages applied on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience building high-performance data processing systems with storage/transport/query technologies.
  • Kubernetes and cloud-native expertise including Helm, ArgoCD, Temporal, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
  • Advanced problem-solving and debugging for production troubleshooting, prioritizing reliability and operational excellence.

Soft Skills

  • Proficient communication and collaboration in a fully remote, cross-functional environment.
  • Self-driven with strong ownership, accountability, and customer focus.
  • Bonus: Experience with clickhouse, Kafka, or custom Kubernetes operators/controllers.
