Role Overview This position is based in the United Kingdom and is managed by a partner company. The role involves building and operating large-scale cloud infrastructure for mission-critical product metrics and real-time analytics.
You will work on highly distributed systems, processing trillions of events and managing petabytes of data with exceptional reliability and performance. Collaborating with experienced engineers in a fully remote environment, you'll contribute to platform strategy, deliver scalable features, and optimize cloud-native services that support both internal operations and customer-facing insights. This is ideal for professionals passionate about distributed systems and cloud technologies.
Accountabilities
- Design, develop, operate, and continuously improve highly scalable, fault-tolerant distributed systems for large-scale product metrics collection and analytics.
- Contribute to the technical roadmap by identifying improvements, proposing new capabilities, and driving engineering initiatives that enhance platform performance and scalability.
- Build and maintain cloud-native services for processing, storing, and serving massive volumes of real-time data with high accuracy and availability.
- Monitor, optimize, and ensure reliability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of production systems.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver new features, improve services, and support business objectives.
- Participate in architectural discussions, perform code reviews, and mentor teammates by sharing technical knowledge and best practices.
- Take ownership of production services through operational support, incident response, troubleshooting, and participation in an on-call rotation.

Requirements
Experience & Skills:
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience developing and operating scalable, distributed, and fault-tolerant software systems.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience developing applications with Go (Golang).
- Strong experience working with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Microsoft Azure).
- Experience building high-performance data processing systems and working with technologies for storing, transporting, and querying large-scale datasets.
- Solid expertise with:
- Kubernetes and cloud-native technologies
- Tools such as Helm, ArgoCD, Temporal, and infrastructure-as-code solutions like Terraform
- Strong problem-solving and production troubleshooting skills, with a focus on reliability and operational excellence.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, especially in a remote, cross-functional environment.
Soft Skills:
- Self-driven mindset with strong ownership, accountability, and customer focus.
Preferred (Not Mandatory):
- Experience with ClickHouse, Kafka, or developing Kubernetes operators/controllers.
