Senior Cloud Integration Engineer | Contract
We are looking for a Senior Cloud Integration Engineer to join a Salesforce-focused platform team within the banking industry. The role focuses on building middleware and integration services connecting Salesforce with internal systems. You will develop cloud-native microservices, implement REST API and event-driven architecture patterns, and contribute to scalable, secure integration solutions running on AWS. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years of backend development experience with strong expertise in Kotlin or Java, along with solid knowledge of DevOps, CI/CD, and modern integration practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop middleware and integration services connecting Salesforce with internal systems Build and maintain cloud-native microservices using Kotlin or Java Implement REST API-based and event-driven integration patterns across distributed systems Work with Kubernetes and Docker to deploy and manage containerized services on AWS Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code practices Ensure API security best practices across integration layers Build and maintain connectors, adapters, and data synchronization components Drive test automation and quality-driven development standards

Must-Have Requirements:
5+ years of backend development experience in Kotlin or Java Experience with Quarkus, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks Strong knowledge of integration patterns, including REST APIs, event-driven architecture, and messaging systems Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and Docker Solid experience with AWS cloud services Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure as code Background in integration or middleware development, including connectors, adapters, and data synchronization Experience with test automation and quality-driven development Understanding of API security best practices Fluent English, spoken and written

Nice to Have:
Experience with Kafka or AWS MSK Familiarity with GitOps tools such as ArgoCD or Kargo Knowledge of the Salesforce ecosystem
