Senior Cloud Platform Engineer – Azure
Hybrid – 2 days per week onsite
We’re looking for a Senior Cloud Platform Engineer to help shape, optimise and govern a large-scale Azure environment supporting a major greenfield platform for this world class enterprise business.
This is a hands-on role combining Azure platform engineering, automation, security, FinOps and operational excellence. You’ll take ownership of resilient cloud infrastructure, drive Infrastructure as Code adoption and help engineering teams deliver securely and efficiently.
What you’ll be doing
- Designing, building and operating scalable Azure platforms
- Automating infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep and scripting
- Improving cloud security, compliance and platform governance
- Optimising Azure spend through FinOps practices
- Managing CI/CD pipelines across Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions
- Supporting containerised infrastructure using Docker
- Improving monitoring, observability and incident response
- Leading platform improvements, technical debt reduction and automation
- Advising architects, product teams and engineering stakeholders
- Mentoring engineers and promoting cloud engineering best practices

What we’re looking for
- 5+ years in a senior Cloud Platform, DevOps or SRE role
- Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure
- Strong Azure networking knowledge, including VNETs, WAF, Application Gateway, Load Balancers, APIM and ExpressRoute
- Experience with Azure Functions, App Services, Logic Apps, Storage and SQL
- Strong Infrastructure as Code experience with Terraform or Bicep
- PowerShell or Bash scripting experience
- Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions and CI/CD pipeline expertise
- Experience with Docker and containerised environments
- Strong understanding of Azure security, identity and compliance
- Monitoring experience with tools such as New Relic or Splunk
- A track record of supporting complex, business-critical cloud platforms
