Job Title: Senior Cloud Systems Administrator

Location: Gloucestershire

We are currently seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Administrator to join our team and play a key role in designing, managing, and maintaining enterprise cloud environments.

Role Overview

As a Senior Cloud Systems Administrator, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, migration, management, and continuous improvement of cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure services. You will work with a variety of technologies, including public and private clouds, virtualization platforms, storage, networks, and security solutions. This role will require strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and lead infrastructure teams responsible for cloud and on-prem services. Design and implement scalable, secure, and highly available cloud solutions. Oversee the performance, availability, and security of cloud and infrastructure systems. Collaborate with stakeholders to define cloud strategies and support digital transformation initiatives. Support migration projects, ensuring seamless transitions to cloud environments. Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues. Maintain and improve best practices, automation, and monitoring tools. Assist in developing and maintaining infrastructure documentation, policies, and standards. Participate in capacity planning and resource optimization for cloud environments.

Required Skills & Experience

Experience in IT infrastructure, with at least 3 years in cloud administration. Strong expertise in public and private cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMware, etc.). Hands-on experience with virtualization, storage, networking, and security solutions. Proficiency in automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, etc.). Knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and DevOps methodologies. Strong understanding of Active Directory, Identity & Access Management, and IT security best practices. Experience in troubleshooting infrastructure and system performance issues. Ability to manage projects and work collaboratively across technical and business teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience). Industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Azure Administrator, CCNP, CompTIA Cloud+). Experience working in large-scale enterprise environments.
