Join us as a Senior Commercial Analyst - Cards Existing Customer, where you will play a key role in delivering, monitoring and optimising strategies for our existing credit card customers.

In this data-driven commercial role, you will use insight to understand customer behaviour, portfolio performance and product dynamics, translating complex analysis into clear recommendations that improve engagement, product usage, commercial outcomes and customer experience.

You will help identify opportunities, assess risks, track performance and support activity through the appropriate governance and control processes.

To be successful as a Senior Commercial Analyst – Cards Existing Customer, you should have:

  • Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex datasets, identify trends and explain the drivers of performance
  • Experience using analytical coding and data querying tools, such as SAS, SQL or Python
  • Solid commercial awareness, with an understanding of how customer behaviour, product usage and portfolio performance influence business outcomes
  • The ability to translate data into clear, commercially focused recommendations that support decision-making
  • Experience building performance tracking, monitoring KPIs and identifying opportunities to improve customer and commercial outcomes
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to present insight clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Great stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across product, analytics, risk, operations, marketing and compliance teams
  • A good understanding of risk, controls and governance, with the ability to ensure activity is delivered in line with required processes

Some Other Highly Valued Skills May Include

  • Experience working within financial services or another regulated environment
  • Experience supporting credit cards, lending, or another customer product with exposure to commercial or product decision-making
  • Understanding of P&L drivers, risk/reward trade-offs, forecasting or commercial performance optimisation
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, Finance, Economics or a related analytical discipline

Purpose of the role

To extract meaningful insights from complex data sets, developing robust decision models, and presenting actionable recommendations to stakeholders across the departments.

Accountabilities

  • Identification and extraction of relevant data from various internal and external sources.
  • Performing sensitivity analysis and scenario planning.
  • Monitoring and evaluation of the performance of existing models.
  • Development and implementation of data quality control procedures.
  • Building and validation of quantitative models to support decision-making across different business areas.

  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
