Senior Commercial Broker
Senior Commercial Broker (Complex Corporate Account Lead) – NFU Mutual
Work with large and complex commercial insurance risks, shaping tailored solutions for high-value customers. Use your technical expertise to influence, coach and support others across NFU Mutual.
This is a full-time role with 60% homeworking, based in Stratford-upon-Avon.
About the Role
As a Senior Commercial Broker (internally known as Complex Corporate Account Lead) at NFU Mutual, you’ll deliver bespoke insurance solutions for large, complex, and multi-class commercial risks, typically high-value placements across insurer and market partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with Agents, insurers, and internal stakeholders to take ownership of complex cases from referral through placement.
- Negotiate terms, assess risk exposures, structure market engagement, and secure competitive, appropriate cover with strong customer outcomes.
- Develop a broader technical contribution as a go-to expert for:
- Complex referrals and underwriting decisions
- Market engagement activity
- Strategy and risk assessment
- Coach, mentor, and build capability across the team, ensuring consistency and confidence in handling complex risks.
- Contribute to wider initiatives and growth projects supporting NFU Mutual’s commercial insurance proposition.
About You
You are an experienced commercial insurance professional with strong technical judgement and the confidence to lead multifaceted conversations with agents, insurers, and stakeholders.

Requirements
- Extensive UK commercial insurance experience, gained in either insurer or broker roles.
- Proven mastery of large, complex, or multi-class risks—including placements and negotiations with external markets.
- Deep technical expertise in core commercial lines, with the ability to structure and place business efficiently.
- Ability to operate within compliance, authority, and quality standards while delivering exceptional service.
- Excellent stakeholder management, influencing across Agents, insurers, and internal teams.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, or providing technical guidance to colleagues.
