We are currently recruiting for a talented and motivated Senior Commercial Manager to join our growing Defence team in Derby.

Working on high-profile and complex programmes within a highly regulated environment, you will play a key role in supporting project delivery, managing commercial risk and opportunity, administering contracts and driving value throughout the project lifecycle.

This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide expert commercial advice and contribute to the successful delivery of nationally significant programmes.

SC Clearance is essential, or applicants must be eligible and willing to obtain and maintain Security Clearance.

You'll Be Responsible For

  • Providing commercial management support across complex project and programme delivery teams.
  • Providing specialist commercial advice and recommendations to identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks and opportunities.
  • Managing and administering NEC contracts, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and governance requirements.
  • Delivering cost management, forecasting and commercial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Preparing financial reports, including cost forecasts, anticipated final costs and cost of work done.
  • Assessing the commercial impact of design changes, contract awards, construction activities and client requirements.
  • Supporting the evaluation and resolution of contractor and supplier claims, including delay and disruption events.
  • Managing commercial risk, compensation events, change control and contractual notices.
  • Supporting practical completion, final account negotiations and commercial close-out activities.
  • Maintaining accurate commercial records and ensuring all contractual documentation is properly managed and archived.

You'll Need To Have

  • Proven experience delivering commercial management services within Defence, Infrastructure, Nuclear, Engineering or similarly complex environments.
  • Strong NEC contract management and administration experience.
  • Sound knowledge of contract law and commercial frameworks relating to construction and engineering projects.
  • Experience in cost management, forecasting, commercial reporting and financial control.
  • Experience identifying and managing commercial risks, change control and claims.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently at all levels.
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline.
