The Position
This position will be responsible for supporting the Northern European Asset Management business within commercial asset management. Commercial Asset Management is the focus on protecting clients, and their investors', interests by maximising projects net asset value. Enforcing contractual rights, optimising value from the supply chain, identifying opportunities, and commercial considerations to enhance operations of assets, with the overall goal to increase value (not necessarily export). This role will cover all technologies managed by RES including Solar, Wind and Energy Storage. Duties will include owner interaction, contract management, supporting complex insurance claims, using and creating tools for the analysis of projects, forecasting performance of assets, and managing continuous improvement. The duties with this role will suit a team player who is flexible and initiative, and able to help implement new systems of working. This position will include travel on a monthly basis to internal, supplier and client meetings.

Key Accountabilities

- Lead and develop a team of Commercial Contract Managers and Contract Administrators operating across multiple technologies, clients, jurisdictions and regulatory environments.
- Ensure the portfolio of commercial asset management activities is delivered in accordance with the RACI, safely, efficiently, on time, and to the required quality standards, meeting client and stakeholder expectations.
- Work collaboratively with Technical Asset Management, Financial Asset Management and other support functions to provide an integrated asset management service to clients.
- Support clients in maximising the net asset value of renewable energy assets through effective commercial asset management, risk mitigation and value enhancement initiatives.
- Lead complex contractual matters, including contract interpretation, claims management, dispute resolution, warranty enforcement and commercial negotiations.
- Oversee procurement and tendering activities for key project agreements, ensuring compliance with both our clients, and RES’s internal governance requirements and delivery of best value for clients.
- Drive supplier performance management, ensuring contractual obligations are achieved and opportunities for commercial improvement are identified and implemented.
- Oversee the management of significant insurance, warranty and contractual claims, acting as the escalation point for complex or high-value matters and coordinating internal and external stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
- Provide commercial leadership and advice to the Asset Management teams on operational, contractual and strategic matters.
- Act as the commercial lead across multiple client portfolios, supporting the Senior Technical Asset Manager in client governance, reporting and strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with clients, suppliers and other key stakeholders, supporting the Senior Technical Asset Manager in the delivery of a high-quality client service.
- Support the development and continuous improvement of commercial asset management processes, tools, procedures and reporting across Northern Europe.
- Identify commercial risks and opportunities across the portfolio and implement mitigation or value-enhancing measures as appropriate.
- Support business development, tender submissions and the mobilisation of new asset management contracts as required.
- Allocate resources and prioritise workloads across the Commercial Asset Management team to ensure effective delivery of services and achievement of client objectives.
- Coach, mentor and develop Commercial Contract Managers and Contract Administrators, promoting consistent standards, best practice and professional development across the team.
