About the Role
Redis is seeking a full-time Senior Commercial Counsel to join our dynamic superstar Legal team.
As a Senior Commercial Counsel, you will be a critical member of our Commercial Legal team, supporting Redis’ global Sales and Procurement teams with enterprise software licensing, SaaS agreements, and strategic commercial partnerships. You'll lead commercial and legal discussions with internal stakeholders, customers, and suppliers to ensure optimal deal structuring and risk management across our commercial agreements.
You’ll report directly to the Deputy General Counsel, Commercial & International.
What You’ll Do

Lead contract negotiations for all contractual matters, including:
- SaaS purchases
- Hardware purchases
- Real estate leases
- Insurance
- Contractors
- Supplier requests, including Data Processing Addenda (DPAs)

Drive complex deal closure by reviewing, advising, and negotiating:
- Enterprise commercial licenses (SaaS and On-Prem)
- Data processing agreements (GDPR, CCPA)
- Professional services
- Channel partner agreements
- Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs)
- Strategic commercial partnerships

Partner cross-functionally with teams such as:
- Procurement
- Sales
- Deal desk
- Finance
- Security to accelerate transaction closure and optimize deal terms

Lead process optimization and related policies for contracts using AI and other automation tools to increase efficiency and reduce cycle times

Identify and resolve Legal and regulatory issues related to commercial contracts

Help maintain and improve contract templates, including collaborating on improving commercial contracting playbooks with other Legal team members

Draft and negotiate amendments to existing agreements, as needed

Support inbound software and SaaS agreements by drafting, negotiating, and executing various supply chain/procurement related contracts and amendments
What You’ll Need
Core Requirements
-
Legal qualification to practice in England & Wales (solicitor) or an equivalent international qualification with the right to work in the UK
-
6+ years of progressive experience working specifically on software licensing and SaaS agreements (from either law firm or in-house roles)

Demonstrated experience with AI-based tools for enhanced redlining and legal research

Proven ability to:
- Work independently with minimal guidance on moderate to highly complex problems
- Contribute successfully to cross-functional teams

Deep knowledge in your discipline, a basic understanding of related disciplines, and the ability to lead projects or serve as a resource for colleagues

Strong organizational skills

Ability to manage high-volume deal flow, follow through, and meet deadlines

Common sense, great judgment, and a good sense of humor or collaborative spirit
Extra Great
- Preferable if you have prior in-house experience, particularly at a high-growth technology company
- Undergraduate degree in a business or technology field
- Experience with international commercial agreements and data localization requirements
- Additional language skills (French, German, Italian, Spanish, or Portuguese)
