Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner
Location: Peterborough
Job Type: Full-time
Reporting to: CFO
About the Role
We are recruiting a Senior Commercial Finance Business Partner to join a fast-growing business and play a critical role in driving performance, supporting strategic decisions, and improving commercial outcomes across multiple departments.
Working closely with the CFO and senior leadership team, you will provide insight, challenge, and direction across Sales, Marketing, Events, and Customer teams. This is a highly visible position with a clear progression path to Head of Commercial Finance / Commercial Finance Director.
Key Responsibilities
- You will act as a true business partner, embedding yourself within operational teams to understand performance drivers and identify opportunities for improvement.
- The role combines commercial analysis, financial planning, and strategic support.
- Your responsibilities will include:
- Analyzing sales and marketing performance
- Evaluating revenue and margin trends
- Developing models around LTV, CAC, and return on investment
- Supporting pricing and incentive structures
- Assessing event profitability
- Delivering scenario modelling to inform decision-making
- Alongside this, you will take ownership of budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, including board packs and KPI dashboards.
- A key focus will be improving data visibility by automating reporting processes, using SQL to interrogate data, and developing scalable dashboards and insights.
- You will also contribute to strategic initiatives such as new product launches, investment decisions, and M&A activity.
- Mentoring junior team members and influencing senior stakeholders across the business.

Requirements
- We are looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with strong experience in commercial finance, FP&A, or business partnering within a fast-paced environment.
- You will have advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, experience working with large data sets (including SQL), and a proven ability to translate analysis into clear, actionable insight.
- Strong stakeholder management skills and commercial awareness are essential.

Desirable Experience
- Experience in SaaS, events, education, or high-volume sales environments would be beneficial, along with exposure to CRM systems (such as HubSpot or Salesforce), BI tools, or M&A activity.
