Blair West is delighted to be supporting a British multinational enterprise software company with the appointment of a Senior Commercial Finance Director for the UK & Ireland region.
The successful candidate will lead the commercial finance agenda for the UK & Ireland, the company's second largest global region, partnering with the Regional Managing Director UKI and VP Finance EMEA to drive the performance of a strategically important business.
This is a pivotal role for a commercially minded finance leader who thrives on pace, influence and impact, helping accelerate the company's ambition to become a truly great SaaS business. You will directly influence commercial performance, providing the insight, challenge and governance that underpin sustainable growth.
Leading a high-impact team across Business Partnering, FP&A and Financial Control, you will drive transformation, partner closely with senior stakeholders and enjoy significant exposure to the Group CFO and wider PLC finance leadership.
The successful candidate will be a natural leader with strong technical foundations and a proven track record in strategic and commercial finance.
The Opportunity:
- Lead the commercial finance function for the UKI region, partnering with the Regional MD and senior business leaders.
- Drive financial performance, strategy, and operational outcomes.
- Influence and shape business decisions through insight and challenge.
- Directly lead colleagues across business partnering, FP&A, and controllership.
- Develop and mentor future leaders ensuring team maturity, succession planning, and best in class mentality.
- Play a key role in change management and transformation initiatives.
- Build strong relationships across the PLC structure, including group, regional, and functional stakeholders.
- Support M&A business case assessment and integration as required.

You’ll be the ideal candidate for this role if you have:
- A relevant PQE, with senior finance leadership experience.
- Strong technical accounting background (a Big 4 background preferred but not essential).
- Demonstrable commercial acumen and ability to influence business performance.
- Experience leading business partnering, FP&A, and controllership teams.
- A track record of operating in matrixed, multi-entity, or PLC environments.
- Transformation/change management experience.
- Demonstrated the ability to translate financial insight into tangible business outcomes, driving growth, efficiency, and value creation.
- The ability to balance long-term strategy with hands-on problem solving in a fast-paced environment where priorities can shift quickly.
- Experience in producing and presenting executive-level outputs that are concise, insightful, and decision-focused.
- Credible leadership skills and can develop high-performing teams, build capability, and foster accountability and engagement.
- A strong financial governance mindset, with sound judgement under pressure and the credibility to act as a trusted “safe pair of hands” for senior leadership.
