Main purpose of the role:
ITV is undergoing a digital transformation with data and insight at the centre of change. ITV Insights leads the business in putting insight into every key decision (e.g., identifying what content to commission, which audiences are most commercially attractive, and how to optimize products to improve view-through rates).
As a key player in helping the ITV commercial teams drive revenue, you will provide best-in-class, intelligent, creative, and inspirational consumer research and insights to inform decision-making. Working closely with sales teams across the commercial department (including partnership sales, trading, BE Studio, and client strategy and planning), this role delivers curated insights and introduces a variety of techniques as appropriate (research, analytics, and data science). You will act as a catalyst for driving commercial revenue, demonstrating the effectiveness of advertising across ITV’s portfolio of TV channels and digital platforms (ITVX and YouTube), and communicating insights effectively to internal and external stakeholders.
Specific responsibilities:
- Lead on Key Regular Reporting: Provide the charts and insights that underpin critical regular reports such as the Monthly Debrief and Killer Stats as well as regularly present updates on these across the business.
- Bespoke Project Leadership: Lead on major effectiveness and thought leadership studies across their whole life cycle from commissioning to presenting results.
- Client and Roadshow Presentations: Represent Commercial Insights at client and agency presentations for specific commercial roadshows and webinars that demonstrate the breadth of ITV’s commercial opportunities.
- Measurement Innovation: Coordinate strategic projects related to digital measurement, including meta-analysis of YouTube effectiveness studies and cross-platform measurement using Audience Project data.
- Lead on developing new approaches to measuring campaign effectiveness with a focus on brand effects.
- Automation and Dashboard Creation: Work hand in glove with the Commercial Insights data analyst on initiatives to identify opportunities for optimizing and automating reporting.
- Complex Data Analysis: Utilize advanced analytical skills on complex datasets (e.g. Barb, ITVX 1P server data) to leverage insights that drive commercial revenues.
- Work with other domains to realise synergies and consistency between teams.
- Help foster a culture of curiosity, continuous learning and innovation within the Insights team.
- Help the development of career paths and development programs for talent within the team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
