Senior Commercial Manager – Public Sector Procurement & Supply Chain
Location: Warrington
About the Role
This is a critical opportunity for a Senior Commercial Manager to lead complex procurement and supply chain initiatives within the public sector, driving strategic growth while ensuring compliance, cost efficiency, and value for money.

Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic procurement plans for high-value public sector projects
- Lead supplier negotiations to secure optimal commercial terms and contracts
- Ensure full compliance with public sector procurement regulations, frameworks, and policies
- Provide expert strategic advice on procurement and supply chain challenges to senior stakeholders
- Monitor supplier performance and effectively manage risks associated with contracts
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align procurement strategies with organisational objectives
- Prepare and present detailed commercial reports to senior management
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and operational efficiencies

Key Desired Skills & Experience
Smictures: The applicants ideally match the following:
- Extensive experience working with the NEC suite of contracts, including drafting, negotiation, and execution
- Proven leadership in high-pressure, multi-disciplinary programmes (e.g., nuclear, construction, engineering, critical infrastructure)
- Strong expertise delivering commercial/procurement activities aligned with Government processes (CAB, CO, HMT)
- Public sector procurement know-how, including PCR and Procurement Act familiarity
- Experience managing high-value contracts and complex, mission-critical projects

Requirements & Profile
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven expertise in procurement and supply chain management within the public sector
- Deep understanding of public sector procurement frameworks, regulations, and tender processes
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills, including influencing at senior levels
- Experience in leading multi-million-pound contracts and large-scale programmes
- Relevant qualifications in procurement, supply chain, commerce, or a related field
