Overview

The Shore Group have partnered with a Tier 1 Main Contractor to appoint a Senior Commercial Manager for their London team.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a contractor recognised for delivering complex and high-quality retrofit, cut & carve, refurbishment and commercial projects across London. Working on schemes typically valued at £40 million+, you will take a leading role in overseeing commercial performance, supporting project delivery and contributing to successful outcomes throughout the project lifecycle.

Reporting into the senior leadership team, you will provide commercial direction across some of the business's most prestigious projects, whilst helping to strengthen client relationships, support operational teams and contribute to the long-term success of the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the commercial strategy and financial performance of major construction projects from pre-construction through to final account.
  • Lead all commercial activities including procurement, subcontract package management, contract administration, valuations, forecasting and cost reporting.
  • Provide accurate and transparent financial reporting, ensuring risks, opportunities and commercial exposures are identified and managed at the earliest stage.
  • Build strong relationships with clients, consultants, supply chain partners and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Support bid and pre-construction teams with procurement planning, commercial input and value optimisation initiatives.
  • Drive effective change management processes, ensuring variations, compensation events and contractual entitlements are maximised.
  • Partner closely with delivery teams to ensure commercial decisions support programme objectives and operational performance.
  • Lead negotiations with subcontractors and clients, maintaining a balanced approach that protects both commercial interests and long-term partnerships.
  • Develop, mentor and inspire commercial team members, helping to build a high-performing and collaborative culture.
  • Ensure projects are commercially closed out effectively, securing favourable final account settlements and lessons learned.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
