This is an appealing leadership opportunity to take full commercial ownership of a portfolio of landmark retrofit, cut & carve, and commercial office projects, with individual project values ranging from £50m to £100m+.
The successful candidate will enjoy significant autonomy, working closely with a respected senior leadership team while playing a key role in the continued growth and success of the business.
Beyond project delivery, you will help develop strategic client relationships, strengthen the supply chain, mentor commercial talent, and contribute to the expansion of the regional business.

This position requires an individual who can balance robust financial control with a commitment to delivering exceptional outcomes for clients, consultants, supply chain partners, and internal teams.
The Opportunity
- Lead the commercial delivery of major retrofit and cut & carve commercial office projects from pre-construction through to final account, ensuring robust financial control and commercial performance throughout.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, consultants, PQS teams, trade contractors, and the wider supply chain to drive collaboration, best value, and successful project outcomes.
- Develop procurement strategies, manage tendering and package procurement activities, undertake tender analysis, and support value engineering initiatives.
- Produce and manage project budgets, cost plans, cost/value reconciliations, cash flow forecasts, valuations, and monthly commercial reports, maintaining a proactive "no surprises" approach to cost management.
- Oversee trade contract negotiations, commercial risk management, change control, variations, and contractual documentation.
- Work closely with project and construction teams to understand programme requirements, identify risks and opportunities, and support the successful delivery of key project milestones.
- Act as the commercial lead in client, consultant, and project meetings, providing clear commercial guidance and maintaining transparency on project performance.
- Lead final account negotiations and all commercial close-out activities, ensuring efficient project completion and successful handover.
- Mentor and develop commercial team members, promoting a collaborative culture, professional excellence, and high-quality delivery across all project stakeholders.
- Demonstrate strong leadership through effective communication, organisation, problem-solving, and a proactive, solution-focused approach.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
