Senior Commercial Officer

Job Description

We're looking for a talented and driven Senior Commercial Officer to join our Commercial Team. In this pivotal role, you'll be instrumental in driving commercial excellence across our organisation, working collaboratively with multi-functional bid teams to develop compelling commercial strategies that support business growth and success. This is an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and is passionate about delivering customer-focused solutions.

Lead and support commercial aspects of bid teams, developing clear and compelling commercial strategies that align with business objectives and drive winning outcomes Manage contracts across multiple programmes and projects, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating terms whilst ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery Engage proactively with customers to understand their needs, resolve complex commercial issues, and build long-term partnerships based on transparency and trust Maintain and optimise Oracle systems and other commercial management tools to ensure data integrity and efficient workflow Identify, analyse, and mitigate commercial risks by influencing team members and implementing effective change management strategies Provide flexible, innovative solutions to commercial challenges, balancing organisational needs with customer requirements whilst managing multiple priorities simultaneously

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience:

Demonstrable experience in contract drafting, management, and negotiation with a proven track record of success Solid knowledge of terms and conditions, contractual law, and commercial best practices Software asset management experience, including licence compliance and end-user licence agreement drafting Strong customer relationship management experience with the ability to resolve complex commercial issues and build partnerships Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities Proven analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and mitigate commercial risks Experience with commercial and contract management processes, including bid management and commercial strategy development Advanced computer literacy with proficiency in enterprise systems, business applications, and Oracle systems UK Ministry of Defence (MoD) contracting experience Preferred Experience:

Experience working with or familiarity with AI/ML models is preferred Knowledge and understanding of Single Source Regulation Office (SSRO) regulations Industrial participation, offset management, or international contracting experience

Additional Information

Starting salary for this position is £44,000 - £54,000 p/a depending on experience plus our excellent flexible benefits package.
