Senior Commissioning Engineer
Senior Commissioning Engineer (Permanent) – RSE
About the Role
Due to continued growth, RSE is seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to join their permanent team, supporting project delivery across the UK. The role will focus on Control, Instrumentation & Electrical (CI&E) works, including installation, testing, commissioning, and fault-finding for:
- New & existing Motor Control Centres (MCCs)
- Industrial instrumentation (analysers, motors, actuators)
- Automated control systems in RSE products and client critical infrastructure, particularly in the water sector
Key requirement: Flexibility for on-site work, with accommodation provided by RSE. Immediate start potential.
Key Duties & Responsibilities

Commissioning Support
- Align resource needs for all project commissioning activities
- Develop commissioning plans, site files, methodologies, safety](../../risk) assessments and method statements to meet project programmes

Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Monitor adherence to British and industry standards for electrical engineering, instrumentation and control systems
- Ensure specification compliance and maintain rigorous quality standards

Expertise in Control Systems
- Commission LV Electrical systems, Control & Instrumentation (including MCCs, variable speed drives, soft-starts and field equipment)
- Technical Interpretation: Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, line diagrams, and isometric configurations
- Fault Detection: Troubleshoot and rectify defects in newly built systems or original equipment

Sector Certification & Testing Activities
- Attend and contribute insights during statutory FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing)
- Conduct SAT (Site Acceptance Testing) tests and formal asset start-ups with procedural documentation per diligence registry requirements
- Undertake commissioning documentation to meet completion standards

Required Expertise

Educational OR Technological Qualification:
- UK Electrical/Instrumentation HND/HNC or equivalent

Hands-on Experience:
- Proven installation, wet, dry, and process commissioning experience covering full commissioning phases (FAT, SAT, fault-rooting)
- Accreditation: 18th Edition Wiring Regulations embodyment
- Completion of telemetry end-to-end testing suites
- Profibus and Hazardous Area Certification (Profibus: IPNT-A and no suppression)

Standards & Systems:
- Experience within antisepic Log 2 and Level 1 projects, both modular and bespoke
- Experience commissioning Modular MCCs including VSDs, FTBs for soft-start control and critical pipelines for flow, concentration, pH and temperature movements
- Exposure to SAP: Access Points, Profibus, DSTs (ふう配管), and PTW (Permit to Work) systems

Professional Driving:
- Licence to operate mechanical group C/CE vehicles (or equivalent) within HGV examination vehicles: Valid UK driving licence (category B cleared, CE preferred)
