Senior Communications and Marketing Associate

Job Purpose and Background
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) has an exciting opportunity on its Campaigns and Sector Communications team for a Senior Communications and Marketing Associate reporting to a Senior Communications Manager.
The ideal candidate will be a results-oriented communications professional with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a global, cross-partner team. You will develop and maintain a strong understanding of our audiences. You will develop and implement integrated multi-channel global marketing and communications strategies for the SBTi in line with SBTi’s strategic business and communications plans and the needs of our target audiences.
About the SBTi
The Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) is a global body enabling businesses to set ambitious emissions reductions targets in line with the latest climate science. It is focused on accelerating companies worldwide to halve emissions before 2030 and achieve net-zero emissions before 2050. The SBTi defines and promotes best practices in science-based target setting, offers resources and guidance to reduce barriers to adoption, and independently assesses and approves companies’ targets.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the wider Campaigns and Sector Communications team to manage marketing and communications planning and delivery for launches and initiatives.
- Support the planning and delivery of communications to deliver business plan priorities.
- Design and deliver campaigns to raise awareness and adoption of SBTi products and services, including communications strategy, messaging development, deployment of technical launches, developing LinkedIn advertising campaigns, related copy, emails and newsletters.
- Work closely with the Corporate Communications team, Technical Department, SBTi Services and the Strategy & Transformation Department to coordinate successful communications campaigns and develop high quality audience-led content.
- Manage communications for sector technical product development and sector engagement in conjunction with the senior manager.
- Work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to create content and deploy external-facing communications, including paid ad campaigns, dedicated mailers, campaigns, newsletters, and announcements distributed via email.
- Own the communications review of key SBTi products.
- Develop and execute web content.

Experience and Skills
Essential:
- Educated to degree level or be able to demonstrate equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time relevant work experience in communications.
- Experience in developing and delivering B2B marketing or communications that made a demonstrable positive impact.
- Outstanding interpersonal and influencing skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines across multiple time zones in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent (native speaker or equivalent) written and oral English with demonstrable experience in writing for multiple audiences.

Desirable Experience:
- Experience working in an international organization operating in the environment, climate, sustainability, or development sectors.
- Experience in communicating complex science and/or data-led stories.

- This is a full-time role based in the UK.
- The salary for this role will depend on location and experience level.
- Interested candidates should be legally allowed to work in the specified countries and already be visa holders. The SBTi cannot sponsor working visas.
