Senior Community Support Worker, Carers Breaks

Are you positive, empathetic, and have excellent communication skills? If so, you can make a real difference to people’s lives as a Community Senior Support Worker. We have an exciting opportunity to join our team supporting carers of people with dementia.

The Role

The Carers Break and Engagement Team is a countywide community service dedicated to supporting unpaid carers. The primary purpose of this role is to carry out carers’ assessments, ensuring that carers are listened to and their needs are accurately identified. The role involves advocating on behalf of carers, giving them a voice in decisions that affect their wellbeing, and helping them access appropriate support. This includes providing information, guidance, and signposting to relevant local services, resources, and opportunities that can assist in maintaining their health, independence, and quality of life.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who:

  • Have the ability to communicate effectively
  • Are proficient in the use of IT
  • Have the Ability to use evidence to make decisions.
  • Have Knowledge of Support Planning.
  • Have Knowledge of the needs of people with a dementia-type illness.

Previous assessment experience would be beneficial, however most importantly you will need to be patient, kind, and an excellent communicator with a desire to make a difference.
