Job overview:
As a Senior Compliance Advisor, you’ll provide expert regulatory guidance and technical leadership, acting as a trusted partner to support AGH’s strategic growth in a compliant and risk-aware manner. Reporting to the Head of Compliance, you’ll contribute to shaping the compliance strategy, offer support and coaching to colleagues, and take on line management responsibilities when needed. Your key focus will be driving a strong compliance culture and providing assurance to boards and senior management on the organisation’s adherence to regulatory standards. Through your leadership, you’ll help embed compliance at all levels, ensuring sustainable and responsible business practices.
Key responsibilities:
- Provide strategic support to the Head of Compliance in ensuring robust governance, proactive risk management, and full alignment with evolving regulatory requirements and organisational objectives.
- Under direction lead the development and execution of compliance strategy including: the design and implementation of the annual compliance plan, supporting the compliance risk assessment and input into the annual compliance monitoring plan.
- Ensure initiatives drive proactive risk mitigation, regulatory adherence, and alignment with business objectives.
- Deliver expert regulatory advice to the First Line of Defence, to meet regulatory obligations including ICOBS, PROD, SYCS and the Consumer Duty.
- Support and challenge major transformation initiatives and projects as required to ensure compliance with current and emerging regulatory requirements.
- Support the embedding of group compliance and regulatory standards across AGH. Proactively identify, assess, and challenge gaps in frameworks and processes ensuring key regulatory requirements are met and developments impacting customer outcomes are implemented and integrated into business operations.
- Support the Head of Compliance as required to deliver quality, accurate, independent and relevant second line reporting to the AXA Health Division Executive and non-executive management and key committees. Represent compliance at AGH committees and working groups.
- Provide robust challenge and advice on key regulatory risks, emerging issues, and areas of exposure to strengthen governance and decision-making.

Work arrangements:
At AXA we work smart, empowering our people to balance their time between home and the office in a way that works best for them, their team and our customers. You'll work at least two days a week (40%) away from home, moving to three days a week (60%) in the future. Away from home means attending the office, visiting clients or attending industry events.

Your skills & experience:
- Extensive experience in a compliance role within a globally regulated environment.
- Strong knowledge of FCA rules, guidance, and practices, especially conduct of business and systems and controls.
- Proven experience in the financial services and general insurance sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, lead technical discussions, and develop innovative solutions.
- Experience participating in FCA supervision activities and managing regulatory relationships.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a focus on clarity and professionalism.
- Strong ability to work to deadlines, standards, and practices, with a proactive approach to risk and issue resolution.
- A collaborative mindset, capable of building effective relationships at all levels internally and externally.
- As a precondition of employment for this role, you must be eligible and authorised to work in the United Kingdom.
