About the role

In this role you will be providing effective support to meet the overall objectives of the Argenta Group Legal and Compliance Function.

You will get involved in a variety of tasks within, compliance and corporate governance activities for all group entities.

Part of a high performing team of seven.

As the Senior Compliance Analyst, your key responsibilities will involve

  • Manage all aspects of the Group-wide Financial Crime Framework including screening of insureds, brokers and all other non-underwriting third parties.
  • Review and report on the suite of financial crime exception reports as part of the Financial Crime Monitoring Framework.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all aspects of financial crime legislation and regulation providing guidance and advice to the business on any changes thereto.
  • Manage the Financial Crime Working Group.
  • Maintain all relevant procedures, policies, process documents and guidance relating to the Financial Crime Framework in accordance Lloyd’s Principles for Doing Business.
  • Lead all activities in respect to the Conduct Risk, including all matters relating to the Consumer Duty, including lead on the Consumer Duty Board Attestation Report, Product Governance, Product Value and Product Lifecycle reviews providing, advice, guidance and challenge to Underwriters on conduct risk related matters.
  • Prepare all reports as necessary for presentation to the Executive Product Oversight Group (EPOG), Product Oversight Working Group (POWG), the Risk & Compliance Committee and Board.
  • You will take the lead in the handling of UK and International policyholder complaints and APCL’s client complaints in line with regulatory requirements.
  • You will provide oversight to our Australian Coverholder in respect to their administration and complaint handling through MI and Complaint Root Cause Analysis.
  • Support the Head of Compliance in all aspects of the Senior Managers & Certification Regime including maintaining the Management Responsibilities Map and Register of Senior Management Function holders and supporting the submission of applications, amendments and cessation notices to the FCA and PRA.
  • Support the performance of thematic deep dive activities across all areas of compliance in accordance with the Annual Compliance Plan.
  • Prepare papers on compliance matters to support Board and Committee reporting across the Argenta Group.
  • Undertake periodic reviews of all compliance procedures, policies and process documents in line with the governance timetable. and review other governance materials with compliance-related content, e.g. the Underwriting Guidelines.
  • Prepare updates and enhancements to compliance controls, as necessary, and monitoring mechanisms to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, codes of practice, guidance notes and policy statements.
  • Support the programme of monitoring activities, including contract certainty, licensing, money laundering/financial crime and underwriting transactions written via Lloyd’s Insurance Company Europe.
  • Support the completion of all compliance related reporting to Argenta’s parent, Hannover Re.
  • Researching, interpreting and reporting on relevant regulatory developments.
  • Responsible for the collation, review, then accurate and timely submission of FCA and Lloyd’s Regulatory Returns.
  • Responsible for the APCL’s Financial Promotion sign-off process for all relevant financial promotions.
  • Responsible for the management and oversight of APCL client complaints.
  • Responsible for review and proactive oversight of all vulnerable customer notifications, as well as providing regular vulnerable customer refresher training sessions to APCL Client Directors.
  • Undertake any other related duties as may be reasonably required.

Skills & Experience

  • 3+ years relevant experience in insurance or financial services, in compliance functions.
  • A solid understanding of the regulatory environment in which the Lloyd’s market operates, specifically, PRA, FCA and Lloyd’s; including Lloyd’s Minimum Standards.
  • Can confidently assess, interpret and apply regulatory change within a business environment and manage regulatory change projects.
  • Have a well-grounded experience of undertaking research and analysis and preparing reports that convey, concisely the key themes.
  • Ability to present compliance outputs to business stakeholders and Senior Management Groups in a clear, concise and coherent way.
  • Intermediate working knowledge of MS Office products, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Have a collaborative, conscientious and diligent manner and approach, which matches regulatory expectations.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads.
  • Demonstrate a team focused work ethic and actively contribute to a high performing team within an evolving environment.
  • Display excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
