Senior Compliance Manager & MLRO | AI-Native Fintech | London | Up to £130k + equity
The Client
We are partnering with a high-growth, AI-native fintech backed by some of Europe's most celebrated technology investors, built by a team with a track record of creating multi-billion pound businesses. They are currently progressing their e-money institution (EMI) licence application with the FCA, alongside strong early commercial traction.
The Role
This is a foundational hire to own compliance end-to-end, reporting to the founders. You will lead the business through FCA authorisation as an e-money institution, then build the systems, processes and monitoring that keep it compliant on an ongoing basis, holding the MLRO responsibility personally and acting as the firm's point of contact with the regulator.
This is a builder's role: the founders want someone who designs a lean, automated compliance function and runs it themselves, leaning on AI tooling rather than headcount. Scope is UK e-money and payments only, no crypto or cross-border complexity, but it includes carrying the business through EMI authorisation itself.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
