Senior Conference Producer – Defence

London | £45,000 + performance-related bonus

We are working with a leading global B2B events organiser that is looking to appoint an experienced and highly professional Senior Conference Producer to join its established defence portfolio.

This is an excellent opportunity to work across major international exhibitions, conferences and year-round content programmes attended by senior representatives from government, the military and the wider defence industry.

The successful candidate will be polished, credible and confident communicating with senior stakeholders. Previous experience producing government, public sector or defence-focused events would be highly desirable.

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Content, you will take ownership of researching and producing high-quality, commercially successful conference programmes.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting detailed telephone and desk-based research into key market developments, challenges and emerging trends
  • Identifying commercially relevant topics and developing compelling conference agendas
  • Producing multi-track programmes and introducing creative session formats
  • Identifying, approaching and securing senior speakers from government, the military and industry
  • Building and maintaining relationships with government departments, public sector bodies, international organisations and commercial partners
  • Developing advisory boards and strategic industry partnerships
  • Writing engaging programme copy, session descriptions and marketing content
  • Managing speakers and stakeholders throughout the production process
  • Working closely with sales, sponsorship, marketing and operations teams
  • Supporting delegate acquisition, audience engagement and sponsorship revenue
  • Managing multiple production timelines and ensuring key deadlines are met
  • Attending events and overseeing the delivery of conference content onsite
  • Contributing ideas to the wider growth and development of the portfolio

About You

We are looking for an experienced Conference Producer or Senior Conference Producer who can operate confidently within a highly professional and senior stakeholder environment.

You will ideally have:

  • Strong experience producing commercial B2B conferences or content-led events
  • Experience developing multi-track conference programmes
  • Exposure to defence, government, public sector or policy-focused events
  • Excellent research and analytical skills
  • Strong speaker acquisition and stakeholder management experience
  • The credibility and confidence to engage senior government officials, military representatives and industry executives
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong copywriting and agenda-writing ability
  • A highly polished, professional and articulate approach
  • Excellent organisation and project-management skills
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership of a year-round content programme
  • A proactive, collaborative and commercially minded approach

Direct defence industry experience would be advantageous, although candidates with strong government or public sector conference experience will also be considered.
