Job Purpose:

The Senior Conference Producer is responsible for developing, managing, and delivering commercially successful conference programmes across an assigned portfolio of events and content products.

The role combines strategic market research, programme development, stakeholder engagement, and commercial collaboration to create industry-leading conference agendas that drive delegate attendance, sponsorship revenue, and customer engagement.

Working closely with Commercial, Marketing, Operations, Data, Digital, and senior industry stakeholders, the Senior Conference Producer develops compelling content strategies and programmes, recruits senior industry speakers, and ensures the successful delivery of high-quality conference experiences across live, digital, and hybrid products.

The Senior Conference Producer also contributes to product innovation, thought leadership, and long-term portfolio development while maintaining the highest standards of content quality and customer experience.

Functional Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

Content Strategy & Conference Development

  • Develop commercially successful conference programmes through comprehensive market research and industry analysis.
  • Identify emerging trends, market challenges, and opportunities to shape conference agendas.
  • Create innovative programme formats that maximize audience engagement and commercial value.
  • Ensure all conference content aligns with wider event strategic priorities.
  • Attend domestic and international industry events to meet with stakeholders.

Programme Research & Speaker Development

  • Conduct in-depth primary and secondary research with senior industry stakeholders.
  • Creation of a message house for conference programmes.
  • Build relationships with, recruit, and manage high-profile speakers, moderators, advisory board members, and knowledge partners.
  • Build and maintain relationships with executive-level stakeholders across industry, government, academia, technical, and professional associations.
  • Ensure programme quality through rigorous research and external stakeholder validation.

Stakeholder Management

  • Develop long-term relationships with strategic industry stakeholders.
  • Contribute to the management of advisory board meetings where appropriate.
  • Collaborate with partners to ensure programmes align with market priorities.
  • Act as a trusted industry contact for speakers, partners, and customers.

Commercial Collaboration

  • Work closely with Commercial teams to identify sponsorship opportunities and support business development.
  • Develop and deliver conference briefings to the commercial team to support sponsorship and delegate sales.
  • Participate in customer meetings where content expertise adds commercial value.
  • Develop programmes that maximize commercial opportunities while maintaining editorial integrity.
  • Support the identification of new products, partnerships, and revenue opportunities.

Marketing & Thought Leadership

  • Work closely with Marketing to support in the delivery of compelling content campaigns.
  • Work with partners and industry stakeholders on the delivery of articles, interviews, and promotional material to support audience and delegate acquisition.
  • Input into the editorial direction of marketing campaigns (EDMs, socials, brochures).
  • Contribute thought leadership content across digital platforms where appropriate.
  • Support positioning strategies that strengthen the market profile of the portfolio.
  • Provide market intelligence to support marketing and audience development initiatives.

Project Management

  • Manage conference production timelines for your programmes from concept through onsite delivery.
  • Maintain regular reporting on programme development and project progress.
  • Coordinate activity across multiple internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
  • Manage conference documentation, speaker schedules, and programme updates.
  • Ensure deadlines and project milestones are consistently achieved.

Event Delivery

  • Attend conference to oversee programme delivery and speaker management.
  • Ensure speakers receive an exceptional experience throughout the event lifecycle.
  • Resolve onsite programme challenges professionally and efficiently.
  • Gather customer feedback to support future programme improvements.
  • Represent the organisation professionally throughout live events.

Portfolio Development & Innovation

  • Identify opportunities to enhance conference formats and customer experience.
  • Develop innovative content initiatives across live and digital products.
  • Support the launch of new conference products where required.
  • Share best practice across the wider content team.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of production processes.

The Senior Conference Producer operates within a dynamic, commercially focused conference production environment where success is measured through the quality of conference programmes, stakeholder engagement, commercial contribution, and customer satisfaction.

The role requires balancing strategic content development with operational delivery while managing multiple conference products and maintaining strong relationships with senior industry stakeholders.

The Senior Conference Producer will join a team of 5 and will be responsible for managing end-to-end Strategic Conference programmes.

International travel and attendance at conferences may be required.
