Role Overview
This is a hybrid, Flexible First position. Regular travel to project sites and contractor locations may be required to support document management activities and project teams. Occasional overnight stays may be needed depending on project demands.
The Senior Construction Document Controller is responsible for maintaining documentation integrity across construction projects, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and seamless collaboration with stakeholders. This role plays a critical governance function in supporting safe, compliant, and well-coordinated project delivery.

🔄 The Role
You’ll be the central hub for:
- Drawings, specifications, permits
- Version integrity management
- Reporting and stakeholder access
This role ensures all project teams have real-time, accurate documentation when and where they need it.
💼 Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and monitor construction-related documentation (e.g., drawings, specs, permits) for accuracy, compliance, and timely distribution.
- Implement and enforce document version control processes across projects.
- Coordinate internal/external document distribution to contractors and suppliers.
- Track and report status updates to the Project Controls team, flagging risks.
- Ensure proper archiving and retrieval of documentation for audits and quality checks.
- Train and advise project teams on document management best practices.
- Collaborate with construction managers to align documentation with project timelines.
- Provide ad-hoc support to the wider Project Controls team as needed.

📚 Qualifications & Experience
Experience
- Demonstrated success in construction document control or project administration.
- Experience with large-scale multi-stakeholder projects is a plus.
Education
- Minimum GCSE standard or equivalent.
- Desirable: Qualifications in construction, engineering, or project management.
Certifications (Advantageous)
- Document control/records management certifications.
- ISO 9001 (document management) familiarity.
- Project management certifications (e.g., APM Foundation).
