£35,200 rising to £39,000 when role objectives are reached

The Opportunity
As a Senior Construction Machine Operator, you will safely operate/drive a range of construction facility equipment within a controlled test and operational environment. You will complete defined machine activities while supporting product validation and performance assessment. This role requires precision, consistency and strong technical awareness. You will work independently and as part of a team within our facility.
As a Senior Construction Machine Operator/Driver, you are accountable for, but not limited to:
- Operating Backhoe Loaders, Wheel Loaders and Telehandlers safely and efficiently across varied tasks
- Carrying out defined machine profiles including Y Cycles, loading, excavation and material handling activities
- Supporting endurance testing and validation programmes to assess machine performance
- Identifying and reporting defects, faults and performance issues during operation
- Recording accurate data and observations using mobile systems and reporting tools
- Working collaboratively with engineers and team members to support product improvement

What You Can Demonstrate
- Machine Operation: Operate/Drive multiple types of construction facility equipment competently across a range of activities, applying safe and effective techniques to deliver consistent results
- Technical Awareness: Recognise changes in machine behaviour or performance and provide accurate feedback to support testing and fault identification
- Attention to Detail: Follow defined operating profiles and processes precisely to ensure repeatable and reliable outcomes
- Communication: Clearly record and share operational findings, ensuring information is understood and supports team decision making
What You May Have
- Hold recognised machine licenses, demonstrating proven capability to operate facility equipment safely to industry standards
- Applied skill within testing or validation environments, showing the ability to follow structured processes and contribute to performance assessment
- Operated across multiple machine types, demonstrating adaptability and the ability to transfer skills across equipment and tasks
Interview Process
Stage 1: An informal interview to learn more about you and your experience.
Stage 2: If successful, you will proceed to a formal interview comprising STAR-based questions, followed by a practical test assessed and scored by an experienced operator.
