Altrad UK is looking to recruit an exceptional Senior Project Manager / Construction Manager with a mechanical engineering background and extensive experience delivering major multi-million-pound nuclear projects.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an individual with a proven track record of successfully managing complex programmes from concept through to completion within the nuclear sector. You will be responsible for leading high-performing teams, driving commercial performance, and ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of critical infrastructure projects at Sellafield.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of complex, high-value, multi-million-pound mechanical projects within the nuclear industry.
  • Provide strategic leadership across all phases of project execution, ensuring safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives are achieved.
  • Take full accountability for project delivery, including profit and loss (P&L), forecasting, budgets and resource planning.
  • Manage multidisciplinary teams, subcontractors and supply chain partners to achieve successful project outcomes.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, senior stakeholders and delivery partners.
  • Identify, manage and mitigate project risks while ensuring compliance with all regulatory, quality and safety requirements.
  • Champion a culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence and behavioural safety.

Essential Experience

  • Extensive experience as a Senior Project Manager or Construction Manager within the nuclear sector.
  • Demonstrable success delivering complex multi-million-pound engineering or construction projects.
  • Strong mechanical engineering background with experience managing large construction and installation packages.
  • Previous experience working on Sellafield projects is highly desirable.
  • Proven responsibility for commercial management, including project profitability, cost control and P&L.
  • Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels.
  • HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or a related discipline).
  • SMSTS (or equivalent) and a strong understanding of CDM and nuclear regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Sellafield security clearance.
