Alba Partners is a management consultancy built on senior-led delivery and institutional depth, founded in 2020 by siblings Richard and Carol Jacobs, and headquartered in Edinburgh, with offices in London, the UAE and Saudi Arabia.
We deliver complex regulatory change for financial services and public sector clients across four pillars: risk and regulatory advisory, data and AI, change delivery, and multi-jurisdictional scaling.
We are a consulting partner to both the FCA and BoE and have been recognised as one of the UK's leading boutique consultancies by both the MCA and Financial Times.
Due to sustained client growth, we're currently at capacity across our permanent and associate teams. We're now growing both to support an expanding portfolio of client engagements.
About the Role
This role is to join our team supporting a high-profile regulatory programme at a leading global bank. This is a client-facing engagement with direct exposure to senior stakeholders and material presented to the Bank of England. This represents a strong opportunity for a consultant looking to deepen their financial services regulatory experience.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
Must have:
- 3-4 years' experience within a management consultancy. This is non-negotiable. We’re looking for people who’ve been trained in a consulting environment and can walk straight into senior stakeholder work. Prior exposure to regulatory change, prudential regulation, or resolution planning is a genuine plus, but it’s not essential; we can build that knowledge quickly in the right person.
Responsibilities
- Drafting and refining formal papers for senior audiences, including board-level and senior forum materials, where tone and precision matter as much as content
- Producing polished PowerPoint packs for senior stakeholders and, on this engagement, materials presented directly to an external regulator
- Supporting planning and programme management, shaping workplans, tracking deliverables, and helping the team stay ahead of upcoming priorities
- Reviewing and challenging others' drafts, spotting gaps in logic or evidence before they go to a senior audience
- Minuting senior meetings accurately, capturing actions, and following up
- Engaging stakeholders across a large, complex organisation, extracting and structuring input from subject matter experts and presenting it in the format each audience expects
- Bringing strong consulting fundamentals to all of the above: structured thinking, synthesis of large volumes of material, and the ability to flex between big-picture framing and line-by-line drafting
