Senior Business Transformation Consultant
The UBDS group is seeking a Senior Business Transformation Consultant to lead and support complex transformation engagements across client environments. This role focuses on shaping and delivering business and technology transformation initiatives, with particular emphasis on modernising legacy systems and services.
The successful candidate will apply a user-centred and design-led approach across the full agile lifecycle, from Discovery through to Live, ensuring that solutions are aligned to user needs, organisational objectives and long-term sustainability. Working closely with stakeholders, the role requires strong influencing skills to drive change, unlock opportunities and deliver meaningful, lasting outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support business transformation initiatives, particularly those involving legacy technology and service modernisation.
- Apply design thinking and User-Centred Design (UCD) principles across all phases of delivery, from Discovery, Alpha, Beta through to Live.
- Facilitate and manage organisational change activities, working closely with users to embed new processes, systems and ways of working.
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders to build strong relationships, elicit critical information and support successful delivery outcomes.
- Identify opportunities for improvement, innovation and future work within client engagements.
- Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure transformation initiatives are aligned to business needs and deliver measurable value.
- Support the shaping of transformation strategies, roadmaps and delivery plans.
- Provide guidance on agile methodologies, ensuring a transformation-led (not solely technology-led) approach to delivery.
- Contribute to the development of business cases, options papers and strategic recommendations.
- Monitor and evaluate transformation outcomes, ensuring benefits realisation and continuous improvement.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
