The Role
International trade and collaboration play a vital role in driving economic growth by boosting exports, increasing productivity and driving much needed investment into the UK’s cities and regions. Connected Places Catapult works with governments, industry and innovation leaders around the world to open new markets, build international partnerships and showcase UK expertise globally.
Reporting to the Head of International Partnerships, you will play a key role in delivering the Digital Construction International Programme, a flagship UK government programme that brings together governments, infrastructure owners and industry partners worldwide to advance digital construction. By promoting the adoption of international best practice in information management and BIM, the programme supports improved infrastructure outcomes, knowledge exchange and international collaboration.
Drawing on your experience of international engagement and diplomacy, stakeholder management and complex programme delivery, you will build and manage relationships with UK embassies and high commissions, international governments and public sector organisations, multilateral institutions and industry leaders across a portfolio of countries. You will design and deliver international missions, workshops, and knowledge exchange activities that translate into meaningful partnerships, market opportunities and programme impact. Knowledge and experience of the construction and infrastructure sectors would be advantageous.
The role will also involve support for the Global BIM Network, collaboration with multilateral organisations, and the coordination of senior inward and outward visits.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
